Today I had the pleasure of being interviewed by fellow nurse, Catie Harris, PhD, MBA, RN, of The NursePreneurs Podcast. It was such a thrill to get to talk to someone who has empowered hundreds of nurses to monetize their knowledge and skills in business, while inspiring them to change the way healthcare is perceived and delivered. As a nurse that is also an entrepreneur, Catie herself is herself a NursePreneur and her wisdom and insight is much appreciated.
I have been Maryland Placenta Nurse for five years. In the business world that means I am still a newborn myself and any support I can get is always appreciated. The old saying "Nurses eat their young" sure doesn't apply in the NursePreneur world, in fact, I have found the opposite to be true, the nurses that have left the hospital grind and started their own business in hopes of putting patients first are all too willing to help another nurses on their path to success.
Placenta Encapsulation may not be a typical avenue for a nurse to take when leaving the hospital behind, but I have enjoyed helping every new mother that has chosen Maryland Placenta Nurse to provide their services. With the concierge style services I provide to my clients I am able to offer so much more than just dropping off Placenta Pills, I provide support during a client's most vulnerable moments as a new mother, encouragement when they need it most and a trained medical eye right there in their home just days after giving birth.
Nurses have so much to offer to the world, compassion, strength, intuition, mindfulness and a keen eye for business.
Thanks Catie for reaching out and helping a fellow RN on her journey to make the world a better place. Listen to the full interview by clicking HERE.
